Death and Birth

 In the time of wintry melancholies

 As Death grows on the Ivy tree

The mother of the Ivy becomes sad

 She cries until the stalk greens

And branches flare up

With merry colored leaves

الموت والميلاد

 

في زمن الأحزان الشتوية

إذ ينمو الموت على شجر اللبلاب

تحزن أم اللبلاب

تبكي حتى يخضر العود

فتفور على الأغصان

أوراق ضاحكة الألوان.
